We support people from all backgrounds and walks of life to help them succeed at the Police Scotland Assessment Centre.
At Police Recruiting Scotland, we believe that great police officers come from all walks of life. Whatever your background, life experience, or career journey so far, what matters most is your commitment to making a positive difference.
Your application journey includes the Police Scotland Assessment Centre - a key part of the recruitment process and a challenge in itself.
Our role is to help you prepare, perform at your best, and approach this step with confidence.
We focus on the parts of the process that many applicants find unfamiliar or daunting, especially the Police Scotland Standards of Professional Behaviour and Competency and Values Framework .
Understanding these core elements not only strengthens your application but also helps you see how your own values align with the role of a modern police officer.
We understand that the Assessment Centre may be a new experience to you and outwith your comfort zone. That is why we offer in person, one day coaching sessions designed to help you feel prepared and confident. You will be guided through the four individual and group exercises involved in the Police Scotland Assessment Centre.
Our coaching builds your understanding of the standards, behaviours, competencies and values that are assessed, and why they matter. These elements are not only central to the Assessment Centre but form the foundation of what it means to be a modern police officer.
Training is delivered by former police officers with decades of experience as assessors, trainers, and mentors. With a proven track record of supporting successful applicants in both Scotland and Northern Ireland, they will share practical techniques to help you handle the various exercises and challenges you may face.
We tailor our approach to suit your personal learning style - whether you learn best by watching, listening, reading, doing or reflecting.
By reading key guidance, listening to our coaches, observing others and taking part in practical exercises yourself, you will build confidence, develop insight and improve your ability to demonstrate your potential on the day.
